Minutes City of Mechanicsville

SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

October 5, 2013

The Mechanicsville City Council met in regular session on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at City Hall. Mayor Boyd A. Stine called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.   Council members present for roll call were Rob Davis, Calvin Paup, Dee Cook, Pam Cavey. Pam Logue was absent. Others present included Donald Strong and William Sackett.

CONSENT AGENDA: Dee Cook motioned, Pam Cavey seconded to approve the consent agenda including the agenda and minutes from 9/9/13. Roll call vote: Ayes: Paup, Cavey, Cook, and Davis. Nays: None. Absent: Logue. Motion carried.

Discussion and possible action on interviewing candidates for Police Chief: Two interviews were held. Calvin Paup motioned, Rob Davis seconded to offer the position to Donald Strong with the starting wage at $20 per hour with a review to be done after 90 days with a potential $1/hour increase. Ayes all. Motion carried.

ADJOURN:  There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, council member Calvin Paup motioned, Rob Davis seconded, to adjourn the meeting at 10:45 a.m. Ayes all.  Meeting adjourned.
