Mechanicsville Telephone and Cable service is located at 102 N. John Street in Mechanicsville.

The Mechanicsville Post office is located at the corner of John Street and First Street.

North Cedar School

An Elementary Center is located in Mechanicsville and Lowden.

The Middle School is located in Clarence and the High School is located in Stanwood.

City of Mechanicsville Services:

Water meters are read once a month and bills are mailed out the first of each month and are due on the 15th of that month.

Yard Waste: The City Shed is open the 1^st Saturday of each month between April and November from 8am to Noon.

Garbage is picked up on Monday mornings.

Recycling is picked up on Monday morning.

Clean up Days are held in the Spring (April) and Fall (October) for removal of such items as appliances, metal, gas tanks, car batteries, tires and miscellaneous items. Cedar County residents may contact the Cedar County Transfer Station for disposal of such items as waste oil, oil filters, anti freeze, chemicals, paints, etc. 563-886-6437. Hours: Mon-Wed. & Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday 12 noon to 4 p.m. and *Saturday 8 a.m. – 12 Noon

*April – November First and Third Sat of each month.

*December – March only first Saturday of each month.
